Would anyone be interested in revival of this thread? I know it's been inactive for nearly three years but I'm a latecomer to the B/A communities on
the net, I've been a B/Aer since 1999 but just about a year ago discovered the Babble Board and Haven. It would be nice to bring this thread to life and to
share thoughts on the episodes. So would anyone be interested?

I would like to revive it very much. I would love to watch episodes with someone and discuss them. I'm latecomer as well. I'm B/A-er since 2000 but I
found this forum few months ago when I got internet at home although I keep hearing about it for years. This thread really made me happy because it reminded
me why I fell in love with BtVS and why I adore seasons 1-3. Do you want discuss only episodes after Surprise or that we start from S1or S2 beginning. I
don't want to begin with Angelus episode (although he is my favorite villain), I want to analyze some B/A goodies first

Hi,
Angelus is my favorite villain too, he's just deliciously evil and let's not forget the leather pants So how do we do this? One episode or two episodes a week? Starting from the beginning or season two? "I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it." - Mae West |

Sorry for late reply I wasn't home for a few days. Yes Angelus is perfect villain - and his leather pants (and him in it) mmm... they occupy very special
place of my personal fandom
I would like to go from the beginning. Let's start with one episode a week and see how it goes. I don't want go over S1 too fast. In what form should we analyze eps? I thought first we comment entire episode and at the end we put favorite quotes form the ep. I saw that at forum B/A Haven - they comment True Blood like that. So do you agree or do you have other suggestions? I would like to start re-watching BtVS this week. I'm really excited to get BtVS-experience again with someone who likes it as much as me. |

No problemo. Yeah, it's fun listening to my friend's comments, she was really shocked when Angel turned into Angelus but the downside is that she knows
there will be Angel the series unlike I did back in the day when I was watching season 2 and 3. We're going to have a Buffy marathon this weekend, starting
the third season but it would be fun to go back to the beginning so a episode per week works fine with me. And the favorite quote thing sounds really good
since the earlier seasons had a lot of great lines. So when should the "deadline" be? Would Sunday or Monday be a good day for the reviews to come
out at the latest before starting the next episode?

I watched BtVS from the beginning but I knew about AtS too since I watched some eps on German channel PRO7 before (and I understand only couple words of
German) but I was very shocked when she sent him to hell.
You're having Buffy marathon of S3 with your friend, you'll be reviewing S1 with me - be carefull not to get Buffy overdose. Then you're gonna start dreaming BtVS, connecting every other song with it and who knows how that will end. On other hand if you're already at that stage, there's no help for you. Talking from personal experience. About the good lines - they don't call them golden years for nothing. So much good stuff in them. Let the Monday be last day for the reviews. That way we can pretend that new ep is on Tuesday like it was aired in USA (and incidentally also in my country Croatia). I'll try not to post the review at the last minute (like I do so many things in life) Welcome to the Hellmouth *dramatic voice* In every generation there is the Chosen one. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and forces of darkness. She is the Slayer. (to be continued soon...)

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the problem of doing things at the last minute, heh. Well, I live in Finland and here the show aired originally
after 1 am on Saturdays and stopped at season three, it took years before I got a channel that showed Buffy and then I saw sex and seven, six on re-runs
starting at 2 am on Wednesdays, it was murder to get up for classes in the morning . Then I got season 1 on dvd and later seasons 4 and 5, and Angel season 1.
You're lucky that you were somewhat spoiled on Angel not staying in Hell cause I've been completely unspoiled for all season of both shows (except for IWRY but all I knew was Buffy came to LA and Angel became human) and after Becoming the show went to summer hiatus, it was a looooong three months. I only knew about Angel having his own show from a David Boreanaz's interview but that was after season three had ended. "You're having Buffy marathon of S3 with your friend, you'll be reviewing S1 with me - be carefull not to get Buffy overdose. Then you're gonna start dreaming BtVS, connecting every other song with it and who knows how that will end. On other hand if you're already at that stage, there's no help for you. Talking from personal experience. There is no such thing as overdose on Buffy's earlier seasons, heh. And I may be beyond help already because I already make connections between song lyrics and BtVS, all I need now is Angel to star in my dreams So Buffy season 1 starts to "air" to us on Thuesdays, that's a good time for you to start feel nostalgic "I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it." - Mae West |

Okay, I was supposed to do this before Saturday but just didn't get around to it
The first episode of Buffy ever, when all the characters were still young and innocent, those were the times. This is a great opening episode of a series, it explains all the characters and the slayer mythology without feeling like a boring history lesson. I really liked that this isn't predictable, in the beginning the frightened blonde isn't the one being used but actually the monster to be feared and the bubbly normal teenage girl turns out to be the only one that can fight those monsters. Joyce was doing well as a mother up until the point where she said "Try not to get kicked out", that wasn't very supporting thing to say. But she was playing the good mother later when Buffy was leaving to the Bronze but why hadn't she heard about the dead body found at the school? Principal Flutie tearing Buffy's file, then taping it back together was funny. Xander was cute as the "bibbling idiot" and Willow is really sympathetic character with her quirky nerdiness and shyness, really felt bad for her when Cordy was bashing her. Really loved the talks between Buffy and Willow, and we got the famous reason why she and Xander broke up. He stole her Barbie, heh. Cordelia is a perfect bitch, she's the character you love to hate and has some great dialog. Buffy could have become one of the cordette's, a popular cheerleader who tormented Willow and Xander since she had already had Cordelia's approval. But despite being a "retired" slayer, she didn't ignore her duty and sacrificed her "social life" by doing the right thing and becoming friends with Willow, Xander and Jesse. And you can see from the look she gives Cordelia as she's being nasty to Willow that Buffy doesn't really like Cordy's behavior. And it's not hard to mistake Cordelia for a soulless bloodsucker. *Grin* Did Giles think he gave the vampyr book to the wrong girl when Buffy fled the library? Really loved the interaction between Buffy and Giles, they really have great chemistry and he got a reality check on slayer's life, he did look a little taken back so I guess he hadn't really thought about it from that point of view. Poor Giles really looks out of place in the Bronze in his tweed suit and gotta love that stuttering, "but you didn't... hone". And for some reason Buffy saying she didn't like the dark, annoyingly gorgeous guy didn't sound very convincing, it always makes me break into a smile. And Angel. The first time I saw this episode I was really surprised by how young and skinny Angel/DB looked, and lets not forget yummy *swoon*. And the chemistry between Buffy and Angel is unbelievable, the screen was sizzling when they were together. And lets not forget the smirk... Okay, I'm back. Just got a little distracted by the dark, mysterious smirking salty goodness. Lets move on to the characters that don't make me so distracted. Master is a great villain, on my top three of favorites, he's creepy and sometimes kinda funny, "Bring me something... young". Luke is in a way cliché bad guy but for some reason I like him as a disposable baddie. And in this episode I wasn't as annoyed with Darla as I could be and Buffy could have staked her skanky ass if she hadn't been so busy joking. She should have just "plunge and move on, plunge and..." like Giles instructed in Never kill a boy on the first date. But we'll get to enjoy her turning to dust later. Buffy was a little easily thrown around by Luke, guess she wasn't on the top of her game yet, but the episode ended in a suspending cliffhanger. Where was the cross-necklace that Angel gave her? There's plenty of great dialog so the quotes part is a little full. But it's so hard to choose! Quotes: Xander to Buffy: Can I have you? (embarrassed chuckle) Can I help you? Buffy: Uh, Hi! Willow, right? Willow: Why? I-I mean, hi! Uh, did you want me to move? Buffy: Why don't we start with, 'Hi, I'm Buffy,' and, uh, then let's segue directly into me asking you for a favor. It doesn't involve moving, but it does involve hanging out with me for a while. Willow: But aren't you hanging out with Cordelia? Buffy: I can't do both? Willow: Not legally. Buffy: Look, I really wanna get by here - new school - and... Cordelia's been really nice... to me... anyway, but, uhm, I kinda have this burning desire not to flunk all my classes and I heard a rumor that you were the person to talk to if I wanted to get caught up. Angel: Ah, is there a problem, ma'am? Buffy: Yeah, there's a problem. Why are you following me? Angel: I know what you're thinking. Don't worry, I don't bite. (Gets up from the ground) Truth is, I thought you'd be taller, or bigger muscles and all that. You're pretty spry, though. Buffy: Who are you? Angel: Let's just say... I'm a friend. Buffy: Oh, you're here with someone? Willow: No, I'm just here. I thought Xander was gonna show up. Buffy: Oh, are you guys going out? Willow: No, we're just friends. We used to go out, but we broke up. Buffy: How come? Willow: He stole my Barbie. Oh, we were five. Buffy: Oh. Willow: I-I-I don't actually date a whole lot... lately. Buffy: Why not? Willow: Well, when I'm with a boy I like, it's hard for me to say anything cool, or, or witty, or at all. I-I can usually make a few vowel sounds and then I have to go away. Buffy: It's not that bad! Willow: No, i-it is. I think boys are more interested in a girl who can talk. Buffy: You really haven't been dating lately. Buffy: That the Harvest is coming. I know, your friend told me. Giles: What did you say? Buffy: The Harvest. That mean something to you? 'Cause I'm drawing a blank. Giles: I'm not sure. Uh... W-who told you this? Buffy: This... guy. Dark, gorgeous in an annoying sort of way. I figured you two were buds. Giles: No. The Harvest. Did he say anything else? Buffy: Something about the Mouth of Hell. I really didn't like him! Cordelia: My mom doesn't even get out of bed anymore. And the doctor says it's Epstein-Barr. I'm like, pleeease! It's chronic hepatitis, or at least chronic fatigue syndrome. I mean, nobody cool has Epstein-Barr anymore. Cordelia: Excuse me, I have to call everyone I have ever met, right now. Buffy: Now, we can do this the hard way, or... well, actually there's just the hard way. Darla: That's fine with me! Buffy: Are you sure? Now, this is not gonna be pretty. We're talking violence, strong language, adult content... (stakes the male vampire) See what happens when you roughhouse? "I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it." - Mae West |

I written this hours ago but Internet wasn't cooperating. I loved the intro. It sounds very dramatic and as you said cool and short way for explaining what (and who) is the Slayer. I love that Buffy's image at the end of intro. One of reasons I love S1 so much is that it's scary. I mean look and that gliding scene in the beginning. Showing school like some house of terror (accurate in Buffy's and our world I suppose:), dark hallways and classroom with animal skeletons and that BAM! Breaking of glass. I turned up volume little too high and I must confess I jumped a little I realized now that in the the teaser we don't know to the very end of it who is the monster. First it seams it's the guy - but then there is noise so it's something in dark that will get them. And then another shock. It's (not so innocent) blond girl! Way to turn cliche on it's head. I laughed when I first saw this scene and still love it now. So original and unexpected. Only thing I kind of wonder now - why Darla asked the boy did he hear anything? She's got the way better hearing, right? But that's probably just to throw us off. And boy, how they did! This is the first ep so I'll say something about the opening credits. I loved them then and I love them now. I like how it starts with howling and organs and then suddenly turns to rock. Classical horror and legends with modern times and thinking. That's Buffy and BtVS in the nutshell right there. If I didn't realize before I would known now that I'm Buffy fanatic. I can connect every single scene with full name of the episode For some reason I don't like very much first part of the music playing during Buffy's dream but I like when it' speeds near the end. Poor girl - can't have rest from the demons even in her sleep. And here is the first hint that Buffy is connected to Master in some way. He was only one who looked at her in the dream and she woke up. Continuity rocks! I agree with you - good parenting of Joyce until «Try not to be kicked out.» It was included in funny way and it sounds funny but now that I know everything Buffy had to go trough (original script of movie and comics about pre-Sunnydale Buffy) I say «Bad Joyce, bad!» But truth to be told she never really changed - some good and then bad parenting because of not understanding Buffy's life. That scene with Xander was awesome. He was great with skateboard. It's so funny when he says: Please move, whoa, 'scuse me...(seeing Buffy) Whoa! (staring and hits the handrail). He was literally head over feet. Funny scene with principal Flutie. Well at least Buffy wasn't kicked out for bad grades. Burning up the gym sounds so much better. Maybe not to Flutie if we can judge by his astonished look when he sees it on the piece of her file. I guess he thought that nice girl like Buffy probably didn't anything too - extreme. Xander is cute as with his stammering and I liked Cordelia when I first saw her - for about five seconds. When she started to talk about «hanging with me and mine» and «coolness factor» all bitch alarms went off. Yeah she is easy to hate but does have good lines. It's really interesting to me how Buffy immediately liked Willow and didn't like Cordelia behavior to her. She would maybe became cordette if she didn't became the Slayer before she came to Sunnydale. I think she matured after all she experienced in L.A. and saw things differently. Not just seeing and caring about the surface like shallow Cordelia. Scary music when she comes in the library. Foreshadowing what's under the library or I'm reading too much into it? I love how Giles looked so happy to give her that Vampyre book. He really likes his job doesn't he? I really liked Willow with her sandwich and excitement about the books. Another great scene and dynamic when Buffy talks to Willow, Xander and Jesse and they really get along pretty well then Cordelia brings the news that turns atmosphere 180. And Buffy is annoyed when she sees vampire bite mark on the body. Ha! No fear or horror but annoyance! Buffy & Giles dynamic is great. They really bounce of each other well. And Giles may be the Watcher but here Buffy gave him the lesson. She is real human girl with real life not some mindless soldier who only thinks about killing demons. In this episode is shown how they better each other - he becomes more open minded and she becomes a little more accepting to her destiny. Another great camera work with showing Sunnyale above and then below the ground. That's good metaphor for Sunnydale in general, too. Sunny and happy from the outside - scary and dark in the inside. That Luke has one deep voice. I like him too in disposable cliché bad guy way. Hey, that black shoes following Buffy are so shiny. Guy can't be bad, right? Conversation between Willow and Buffy is very indicative of their experience (not to mention funny). Buffy as popular girl at Hemery probably knew more boys who don't care what girl says as long as she's pretty and popular. Jocks and the like. On the other hand Willow knows less popular kind who are maybe lonely and like to converse more. But she can talk to Xander just fine and she likes him. Maybe she meant that she can't say to the boy that she likes him. And Barbi is perfectly normal reason for break up. Some things are just sacred Giles sticks out like sour thumb in Bronze that's for sure. They have completely different ways of finding vampires - fashion vs textbook with arms. I loved entire conversation. And yes calling guy gorgeous really says you don't like him, Buffy. Master is in my top tree of bad guys too. He is scary and funny. How he almost cries - "I need my strength." One more scary dark scene. We're in the graveyard for the first time. Yay! OK that sounded strange. I was really scared for Willow in this scene. I was sure he would bite her when he moved her hair. And Darla's vamp face is ugly and scary. We see contrast between how ordinary people react to seeing vampire and Buffy. Willow naturally screams and Xander is shocked but Buffy comes to the rescue and starts to talk to them like they're old acquaintances. It throws them off, Willow said it right in S3. That's Buffy stile of fighting - quipping and hitting. It even rhymes It looks pretty painful when Luke throws her in the wall and especially at edge of that coffin. Ouch! I think he can overpower her here because he has surprise factor and think he is older and stronger than Darla. And that cliffhanger! Do you see what was I talking about S1 being scary. Especially first couple episodes. Boy I was on needles when I first saw this ep and then had to wait for a week to see what happened. Did she survived? How she survived? I hate cliffhangers but tomorrow I'll see next ep so I don't have to wait long this time. Overall this episode was great opening of the series, it introduced characters in interesting way without boring expositions but with great flow and sparkling dialogue. And I noticed how well balanced is scary&serious with funny&normal. It exchanges in every scene seamlessly. Amazing! I forgot how good this ep was. You already picked many good quotes but I feel that I could quote almost entire episode so I'll put ones you didn't. My quotes will overflow so don't worry about yours being full. It's not like we have restriction or something. Lets go wild!
Willow: Okay. Do you have 'Theories in Trig'? You should check it out.
Xander: Check it out? Willow: From the library? Where the books live. Xander: Right, I'm there! See, I wanna change... Buffy: I know my transcripts are a little... colorful. Mr. Flutie: Heeey... We're not caring about that. Do you think, uh, 'colorful' is the word? (tapes the paper) Not, uh, 'dismal'? Buffy: Wasn't *that* bad! Mr. Flutie: You burned down the gym. Aphrodisia: The new kid? She seems kind of weird to me. What kind of name is Buffy? Girl: Hey, Aphrodisia! Aphrodisia: Oh, Hey! Willow: Buffy, this is Jesse and that's Xander. Xander: Oh, me and Buffy go waaay back, old friends, very close. Then there's that period of estrangement where I think we were both growing as people, but now here we are, like old times, I'm quite moved. Jesse: Is it me, or are you turning into a bibbling idiot? Xander: No, it's, uh, it's not you. Jesse: Well, you know, we wanted to welcome ya, make ya feel at home, unless you have a scary home.. Cordelia: Some guy was stuffed in Aura's locker! Buffy: Dead. Cordelia: Totally dead. Way dead. Xander: It's not just a little dead, then? Buffy: To make you a vampire they have to suck your blood. And then you have to suck their blood. It's like a whole big sucking thing. Mostly they're just gonna kill you. Why am I still talking to you? Buffy: Oh, come on, stake through the heart, a little sunlight... It's like falling off a log. Giles: A, a Slayer slays, a Watcher... Buffy: ...watches? Giles: Yes. No! (sets down the books) He, he trains her, he, he, he prepares her... Buffy: Prepares me for what? For getting kicked out of school? For losing all of my friends? For having to spend all of my time fighting for my life and never getting to tell anyone because I might endanger them? Go ahead! Prepare me. Angel: Truth is, I thought you'd be taller, or bigger muscles and all that. You're pretty spry, though. (massages his neck) Buffy: What do you want? Angel: The same thing you do. Buffy: (lets down her guard) Okay. What do I want? Angel: (steps toward her) To kill them. To kill them all. Buffy: Well, my philosophy, do you wanna hear my philosophy? Willow: Yeah, I do! Buffy: Life is short. Willow: Life is short! Buffy: Not original, I'll grant you, but it's true. You know? Why waste time being all shy and worrying about some guy, and if he's gonna laugh at you. Seize the moment, 'cause tomorrow you might be dead. Willow: Oh, that's nice! Giles: You don't know... Buffy: Oh, please! Look at his jacket. He's got the sleeves rolled up, and the shirt! Deal with that outfit for a moment. Giles: It's dated? Buffy: It's carbon dated. Trust me, only someone living underground for ten years would think that was still the look. Giles: But you didn't... hone. Buffy: Was there a... a school bulletin? Was it i-in the newspaper? Is there anyone in this town who doesn't know I'm the Slayer? Buffy: Well, this is nice. I-it's a little bare, but a dash of paint, a few throw pillows... call it home! Darla: Who the hell are you? Buffy: You mean there's actually someone in this town who doesn't know already? Whew, that's a relief, I'm telling you! Having a secret identity in this town is a job of work.

Good morning
Quote: "Only thing I kind of wonder now - why Darla asked the boy did he hear anything? She's got the way better hearing, right? But that's probably just to throw us off. And boy, how they did!" I agree, that it was probably just for suspencion but it could also be just a scared girl act from Darla... Or a little bit of both. Quote: "For some reason I don't like very much first part of the music playing during Buffy's dream but I like when it' speeds near
the end. Poor girl - can't have rest from the demons even in her sleep. And here is the first hint that Buffy is connected to Master in some way. He was

"Scary music when she comes in the library. Foreshadowing what's under the library or I'm reading too much into it? I love how Giles looked so happy to give her that Vampyre book. He really likes his job doesn't he? That could go either way since Joss is famous of putting secret/not-so-secret meanings to the scenes. Or it could be a way to build suspence since the library is all dim and "mysterious" and lets not forget that Giles creeps up behind her. And Giles really REALLY likes his job. Heh. It's funny when he gets all excited from living on the Hellmouth like it is established in the future episodes. I just love Giles. Even if he is a little fuddy-duddy. Quote: "Hey, that black shoes following Buffy are so shiny. Guy can't be bad, right? I too noticed the shiny shoes, guess he really takes care of his appearance. And it's completely understandable, after all a guy has to look his best when he's following the girl he has feelings for Quote: "One more scary dark scene. We're in the graveyard for the first time. Yay! OK that sounded strange. I was really scared for Willow in this scene. I was sure he would bite her when he moved her hair." I too was sure he was going to bite her or at least try to bite her. In moments like these I wish I had seen this show from the first episode and not from second season because it kinda ruined the suspencion of a scene like these cause you know Willow is still alive in the next season, not to mention the shock to find out that Angel is a vampire Quote: "Overall this episode was great opening of the series, it introduced characters in interesting way without boring expositions but with great flow and sparkling dialogue. And I noticed how well balanced is scary&serious with funny&normal. It exchanges in every scene seamlessly. Amazing! I forgot how good this ep was. That's what is so great about the show that it isn't just horror, girls screaming, monsters jumping from behind a tree and someone (usually male) saving the day, Buffy (the series) is so much more because it has all the elements and they are so well balanced as you said, it's scary, dramatic, funny, full of action and uses serious real life situations veiled behind the supernatural. And the first season is dark and light mixed together, the characters are still innocent and don't know about the hard decisions they have to make but at the same time there are serious matters going on, the Master is a big cloud over Sunnydale and all the characters have to face the harsh reality, Prophecy Girl is a good example of that. So next in line: Harvest "I generally avoid temptation unless I can't resist it." - Mae West
Angel: "Kiss me." Buffy: "Finally, something I wanna do." - Ted (s2e11) Angel: "I love you. I try not to, but I can't stop." Buffy: "Me - me, too. I can't either." - Surprise (s2e13) "Buffy." - Angel's first word after coming back from Hell. Angel: "I waited. I waited here for you. But you never... I was supposed to help you." Buffy: "You were gonna help me." Angel: "The Master rose. He let me live... to punish me. I kept hoping maybe you'd come. My destiny." - The Wish (s3e9) Angel: "I love you."
"No, Cordelia was chosen to become a higher being because she's such a pure, radiant saint. Puh-lease." - Skip in Inside Out (Ats s4e17)

The Harvest | ||
|
I actually watched this episode on the weekend but didn't have time to review before now. But here we go.
And the episode continues where it left off and Buffy is saved by the cross Angel gave her Poor Xander is already knocked unconscious, he better get used to it while Giles is still waiting for his turn. Xander shows he is a good friend as he is somewhat studiply courageous in going to rescue his friend and as Buffy starts guilt tripping, he states it wasn't her fault that Jesse was taken. And a great Xander moment, "They can fly?" and Willow's suggestion to call the police and tell a bad man took Jesse, she's still so innocent And Angel is again looking good. But how did he get in the mausoleum since it's day, unless he got there before sunrise then it would make perfect sense for him to hope Buffy would get there a little sooner. And we get to hear what's the mystery guy's name and a smirk on top of that. Buffy instantly feels bad that he doesn't have any friends, maybe she should give him a hug. Poor Angel. And finally the soft whisper of "Good luck" after Buffy has gone, he soooo likes her Xander chooses mortal danger over chem class, heh, but again he shows he has courage when needed. Jesse was a little too conveniently left chained in the middle of the sewers but the first time I saw this episode it did come as a surprise that he was a vampire. Giles is just great in this episode, a little stuffy but great. He explains what a vampire is, apparently they do have a soul, a fact that is established many times in this episode including by Master, but it is a demon soul so it makes the vamp evil, like he said to Xander, "You're not looking at your friend, you're looking at the thing that killed him." And gotta love him being all giddy about living at the Hellmouth. Master is again creepy and kinda funny in a cruel sort of way, "You've got something in your eye" and he pokes his finger into minions eye, auts. Jesse stalking Cordelia gives me a brief flashback to School Hard where Spike is stalking Buffy at the Bronze (or is it a flash forward). Funny how all Jesse had to do to get a dance from Cordelia was to tell her to shut up, heh. And why is it that when a person turns into a vampire he becomes cool and dangerous looking. Joyce again shows her less than great parenting skills, she just starts how she has read from parenting guidance book how she needs to say no. it's not very encouraging when she says 'it's starting again, isn't it' and doesn't even ask why Buffy was skipping classes. She just tells she's grounded but doesn't discuss about the reasons what makes her act like she does. But she does have once word of wisdom, "If you don't go out it'll be the end of the world", and for once she's right. Cordelia has a great comedy value, like the airhead speech she gave in the Bronze but she still is a real bitch. I know gossip changes and grows while traveling but Cordelia had the first hand information and most of her story was from her own imagination. The way she treated Willow made me want to bitch-slap her but karma came to bite her in the a... behind soon after. Why are the people at the Bronze just standing whimpering in fear? Are they paralyzed from the fear or is it just the Sunnydale-way? Cordelia screams when she is given to Luke but only gasps when she sees Jesse in vamp-face, why? She knew Jesse so it should be a greater shock to see him as a demon. And really Buffy needs to work on her timing, just a little while longer and Cordelia would have been history. The fight was okay, Buffy showed how resourceful she is and it had some great suspense moments. Poor Xander had to kill his friend, well technically he didn't since it was the fleeing girl that pushed him against vamp-Jesse and Willow saved Giles from Darla by splashing holy water to her face, you go girl! The way Buffy killed Luke was funny and we get the first badass Buffy stance. When the Bronze is empty and only the gang is there we get a great sense of unity from them. And Cordelia's short term memory kicks in, she was nearly vamp food but all she remembers is that the guys were ugly and Buffy knew them. Plus her friends should have been there, heh. Giles is great with her giddy speech and finally we get the "World is doomed", heh. A great episode. Again there's so many great quotes that it's hard not to post them all. Xander: Okay, this is where I have a problem. See, because we're talking about
vampires. We're having a talk with vampires in it.
